Camas Bikes to offer MTB Skills Clinics

Recently I completed IMBA's new ICP Level 2 Mountain Bike Skills Instructor Certification Program. This was a 4-day instructional program taught by Lead Instructor Shaums March, a two-time masters world champion in downhill racing. ICP courses like this one are offered internationally to provide professional training and certification for individuals that lead group rides or teach mountain bike skills clinics. It was a great experience to be able to work with and learn from Shaums, he is such a talented rider and an amazing instructor.
This Spring we will begin offering beginner/intermediate skills clinics and rides. Skills taught will begin with the fundamentals and include: body position, braking, shifting, climbing, cornering, switchbacks, basic wheel lifts and more. Our goal is to get you out on the trails with the proper skills that enable you to ride balanced and in control of your bike, knowing how to navigate the trail and get over those small logs, roots and rocks confidently and safely.  In order to cover everything necessary, the clinics will be broken up into two separate days of skill progressions and trail riding, plan on 3-4 hours for each class. An upcoming schedule will be posted soon on our website and via Facebook. Individual and private group instruction is also available.  Please feel free to email me with any questions or comments at katina@camasbikes.com. I look forward to seeing you out on the trails! ~ Katina

Update: 4/5/13 - Registration open on website. Visit skills clinics for more details.
