SINGLE TRACK HIGH - A fundraising show for WA Student Mt. Bike League

On Oct. 17th @ 6:15PM, come to the Liberty Theater for this special one night showing of SingleTrack High. Follow the lives of 6 teenage mountain bike racers in the NICA Northern California, and see what it means to keep riding at an age when most of their peers have left their bikes gathering dust in the garage. Then enjoy a special short video featuring Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance's Washington Student League (WSL) coaches and team members sharing their experiences in their own words. In a time when technology addiction and obesity are huge problems among our youth, it seems more and more teens are choosing a different path far from the couch, TV or cell phone. High School mountain biking teams have been growing nationwide for more than a decade and participation continues to increase. The Washington Student League's comprehensive mountain bike program has grown to 20+ teams since 2010 with students representing 55 different middle and high schools statewide. More than just a race league, WSL members participate in team rides, skill building clinics, a leadership summit, stewardship projects, and healthy, supportive competition. Instead of playing video games after school, these students are heading into the woods, and riding towards greater self-confidence, better health, great friendships, and a host of skills that will serve them well for a lifetime. Members of the league and  local team, The Lacamas Freedom Riders will be there with a booth before and after the show to answer any questions and share their experiences, even invite interested students and leaders out on a ride. Admission is $10, part of the proceeds benefit the WA Student Mt. Bike League and NICA. Join on our Facebook Event Page for updates and to buy tickets in advance
